Spring SwingEach year we host a Golf Tournament to raise funds for the summer youth activities we organize for the children of our church and our community. The funds raise benefit the children of our local communities by allowing them the opportunity to attend and enjoy our summer activities, such as VBS and our camps. We encourage community wide participation by either playing in the golf tournament, corporate and individual hole sponsorships and prize donations. Playing in the tournament: The tournament is arranged as a 4-person team scramble event. If you are an individual you may sign up and be assigned to a team. Others may form teams and pay individually, or have a team sponsored by an individual or a business for a discounted rate. Hole Sponsorships: We offer hole sponsorships for businesses to support a worthy cause and advertise their company. We also offer hole sponsorships to individuals and families, who may want to support the cause but are not avid golfers. Often individuals and families will sponsor a hole in memory or honor of a loved one. VBS Vacation Bible School is an event we put on for the children of our church and our community. Through VBS we hope to teach our children of the great ongoing work of God in our world by showing them how he has always been at work through the stories provided in Scripture. Most importantly we desire our children to learn of the life and work of Jesus and to trust in HIm for salvation, in order to build lasting relationships with God through faith in Christ. Along with the instruction of Scripture, we also provide our children the opportunity to memorize Scripture so that they can be encouraged and strengthened by it through their entire life. VBS is also a time of fun, filled with activities the children are able to experience together. Our VBS always runs in the month of June. This year's dates are June 13-16, which conclude with a family night on the evening of the 16th. VBS is offered for children Pre-K through 6th grade.
Jr CampAlong with VBS our Jr Camp is a minsitry totally supported by our church. We host Jr Camp at Camp Mohawk in Alvin, TX. Jr Camp is a tiem for our church to minister to the children of our church and our community for a full week each summer. At Jr Camp the children experience great food and great fun. We place a high priority on Scripture Memorization and reward each child for hiding God's Word in their heart. Jr Camp is an overnight camp. Parents are able to bring their kids to the campgrounds, register them and help set up their beds, then they say good bye for a few days. We invite all parents out on Wednesday evening of camp week to our evening service in order to see first hand what camp is all about. Parent's then return on Friday afternoon for the conclusion of camp, the reward ceremony. At which point we sadly say goodbye to camp, until next year! Jr Camp is offered for children 1st grade through 6th grade. This year's dates are June 20-24.
We are currently not in a sermon series. Our sermon series usually consist of working through a book of the Bible. When we are not in a specified book, or a specified series we hear occasional messages as the Lord leads our Pastor through Scripture.

Missions:The identity of Friendswood Baptist Church is Missions. We encourage active participation in The Mission that Jesus left His early disciples, which has been passed on through the generations. The Mission can be summed up in embodying, delivering and discipling. Embody: Living and practicing lives of faith and worship centered on GodDelivery: Proclaiming the gospel through word and deed Disciple: Growing in faith and knowledge through encouragement, instruction, spiritual disciplines and accountabilityWe have all been called to participate in the mission. We have all been gifted uniquely for different aspects of the mission. Some have been called abroad in the mission, we believe that it is incumbant upon us, as a church body, to prayerfully and financially support those abroad. Lead by Bro Van Long, this class enjoys rich, insightful teaching from God's Word. This class represents a community within a community. This is a group who actively cares for and encourages each other.Adult Class: Instructed by Bro Ron Sokol, this class is comprised of a diverse blend of people. Bro Ron is a gifted teacher, with a great love for the Word of God. Along with solid teaching from the front, the individuals that make up this class bring along their insights and understanding, providing a rich learning enviroment. Young Adult Class: Striving to establish the next generation of leaders is the heart of this class. Though "young adult" may classify this group in an age demographic, there is a great mix of life stages, from single college student to young and married with their first child. This provides a space for people to learn like they live, with a mix of people at various stages in their life. This class is taught by our Pastor, McCauley Austin.Men's Prayer Breakfast: 1st Saturday of each month.Ladies Scrapbooking/Hobby Night: 2ng Tuesday of each month.
YouthOur teens enjoy many of the things that most youth departments enjoy, social events and activities, summer camps and ministry opportunities. However, as with other youth departments our goal is not simply to create a alternative social enviroment for our teens. Rather, we hope to do our part in teaching and encouraging our teens to live and love as Jesus taught, for God's glory and His Kingdom. Ministry Opportunities: We hope to instill the reality that though ministry happens at the church and during mission trips, there is the great call on each of us to minister right where God has placed us. We endeavor upon corporate ministry opportunities to a)minister and b) instill the heart of ministry in our teens, so that they minister each and every day, whereever they happen to be. Sunday School Bible Study:10amWe place a high value on building a love for the Word of God in our teens. We actively pursue instilling such a love through our Sunday School Bible Study for Teens. Co-taught by Will & Angie Requardt, the Bible study time on Sunday mornings brings the Scripture from their ancient, or 1st century contexts into the homes and schools where our students live and attend. Along with enriching knowledge of the Text and giving practical instruction from the Text, our prayer is that the teens that we have for such a short time will grab hold of a love for the Text that will last a lifetime.
Kids We take seriously both the privelage and responsibility to teach children the Word of God, so that they can know the God of the Word. Sunday School: Sundays @ 10amWe have energetic, loving and knowledgable Sunday School teachers that teach our children. Aside from Sunday School we have two Children's Church programs offered during our Sunday Morning service. We have a Children's Church for our pre-school and kindergarten children, as well as on for our children who are in the 1-6 grade. Though we like to take time to teach our children specifically, we also value our children participating in our corporate worship serevices, so on Sunday and Wednesday evenings children worship alongside their parents or gaurdians. Nursery is provided for every service.

We believe the whole Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21, to be the verbally inspired and infallible Word of God.We believe in the personal Triune God: that is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, All are co-equal with all the attributes of God. And these Three make up the Godhead. We believe in the Genesis account of creation. We believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin and that He lived a sinless life.We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. That He is Very God of Very God. That He is not only the Son of God, but He is God the Son.We believe that all mankind are sinners by nature and sinners by choice, and are in need of a Saviour. And that Jesus, and Jesus alone is that Saviour. We believe that Christ died a voluntary death on the cross for our sins according to the Scriptures, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.We believe that He was buried, and that He arose from the grave bodily the third day, according to the Scriptures.
We believe that He only is the Great High Priest, and we need not the intercession of any man or organization, but that Christ ever liveth to make intercession for us.We believe in order to be saved; the soul must be personally born again. “Ye Must Be Born Again.”We believe that salvation is the free gift of God that He gives to any & all that will come unto Him through faith in Christ Jesus and receive Him as their Saviour. And that salvation is wholly by God’s grace and not by any works that man may do.We believe all that have been saved have been given “eternal life,” and are eternally secure in Jesus Christ, and they shall never perish. We believe there is a literal, eternal lake of fire called hell that awaits every unrepentant sinner that rejects Christ as their personal Saviour. We believe there is a glorious eternal home in heaven that awaits every one that has received Christ as their personal Saviour. We believe Jesus established His Church during His earthly ministry and that It is made up of born again, baptized (immersed) believers. And that He gave It the command to “Preach the Gospel to every creature.”We believe that Christ will come again in Person, bodily and visibly as promised to fully establish His Kingdom on the earth.
Friendswood Baptist Church exists because of Jesus Christ. Friendswood Baptist Church exists for Jesus Christ. We have been called to partner with God, by Jesus through the Holy Spirit to be the manifest presence of God's work in this world before the moment when Jesus returns. Though this is weighted with responsibility, we are called to remember the absolute gift that it is to be able to see and know and testify of the living God. Our aim is to continue to pursue the One who first pursued us and to share His light and life with others in this world.
